Terrible service
10 August 2017

I was with eMusic for years and never had issues. But over the last few years they have seriously gone down hill. The service is absolutely useless
I put my subscription on hold for 3 months and never once did they inform me it was about to begin. by the time I had realize I was 24.00 out of pocket. Sure they would add to downloads if I paid another month. But 150 downloads , was difficult to do 50 per month
Plus no help with the new download app.
Personally eMusic has become disappointment and anyone contemplating joining should reconsider

In summary, I would not recommend eMusic to a friend.

Stay Away since they Changed!

I was a member of Emusic for years and frankly loved them! Recently (Sept, 2014) they changed their policy and they no longer have ANY good tracks on their site. Gone is anything recent AND anything that is decent from the bygone eras too! Tried searching out anything decent of pop, rock, alternative, country, 80's - not a darn thing! And this is with my account sitting there with $28 in its balance! Tried to call them because I had tried to put a hold on my account before the $15 monthly had been taken out 2 days prior to this occurring online and it wouldn't let me do it of course. I called and it was "too late" OF COURSE so it just added to my balance that I couldn't spend. Plus if I put my acct. on hold, I'd lose my balance!!?? I just wanted to see what would happen for a month during their change - did I want to remain a member, spend the money I had in my account, see what happens...etc. Noooo! Not going to happen. I either spend it or lose it. So i'm desperately trying to find ANYTHING to spend that $... (Read the full review)

Stay Away from EMusic unless you want to throw your $ away

I have been a member for a couple of years now. In the last few months I find it takes longer to find something that I want to buy. Their search results provide thousands of results unless you know the exact artist name you are seeking. For the last two months I have lost over $16 worth of music I paid for. I have suggested they send out a notice to users that their funds are about to be "refreshed" which basically means if you have an outstanding balance they zero it out. I find this to be a complete rip off. I signed up for the annual program so I could get more music, but I am finding less and less music to my liking. DO NOT sign up for them no matter what, they are greedy and only want to get the money you leave on the table when you don't use it. I find iTunes might be more expensive, but not when I consider how much I have lost to them by not remembering what day of the month the "refresh".

In summary, I would not recommend eMusic to a friend.

Believe the bad reviews.

Believe all the bad reviews you read here and stay away from eMusic. I origianlly signed up for the music, they didnt have the content I thought they would have. I did however enjoy the audiobooks. Then they changed their policy to allow audiobooks credits to roll over. I have spent nearly a thousand dollars with this company and they are losing me as a cusotmer over a credit rollover issue and more importantly over the shady way they change thier policies and don't notify their cusotmers. The customer service is abhorent.

Old or not as recent tracks or artists, so it took me 4 months at $15.95 each to find 8 worthy 49-99 cent tracks. In short, it cost me over $63 to compile what amounted to a $9 album due to losing the $15.95 "credit" "priviledge" if not used. On what??. WOULD NOT RECOMMENED!

False Advertising

I had an offer for 35 music and 1 audiobook download, turns out I was actually given a dollar amount for music and only 1 credit for the audiobook, I ran out of music credits with 24 songs, I called to report this, they gave me an additional $5 credit was able to add 7 songs for a total of 31 songs, Several songs I wanted was "album only"

The audiobook I wanted was two credits, I was frustrated and cancelled the offer.
On second thought what can one expect for "Free"?

I would ONLY recommend the "free trial" with low expectations

In summary, I would recommend eMusic to a friend.

Monthly Download Credits Don't Rollover
25 August 2011
Reviewer: No Rollover from Atlanta, Georgia

262 of 501 people found this review helpful

I cancelled my eMusic subscription after 11 months because they don't rollover my unused funds to the next month. I was burned twice with this because I didn't have time during the month to shop for and purchase music.

The first time it happened, I went the whole month without downloading any music because I was very busy, but was looking forward to logging in the next month expecting to see two months worth of available download credits, but when I logged in there was only the current month's available download credits. The previous months money hadn't been added. I emailed customer service & they confirmed that my money was forfeit due to the non-rollover policy. They said they'd credit my funds this one time only, which they promptly did. A few months later I had another busy month & was unable to use up all of my credits, so again, I lost MY money. The second time paying a "penalty" for not using up all my credits was enough for me to cancel. This non-rollover policy seems to me to be a very underhanded way to scoop up extra revenue.

It goes without saying that certain imitations must exist as... (Read the full review)

Do not ever sign up for a free trial with emusic

This 'free 7 day trial' was a scam from the beginning. They got my bank card info and even though I didn't download a thing (hard to use site... very few current popular artists) and I ATTEMPTED to cancel the free trial for 3 days before the 7 days were up.... the site wouldn't let me go to the cancel page UNTIL THEY CHARGED MY BANK. Then advised me they charged the yearly $99.99 fee so I would still have an active membership until Sept 2012. I sent email and I'm contacting my Attorney General's office and my bank. This was a TOTAL SCAM! Stay away from Emusic!!

the Big Rip OFF

Reviewer: Diane middleton from Atlanta, GA

I had purchased a mp3 player with an invitation to 35 free songs from e-music. This is one of the most dishonest company ever. There is nothing free about it. I activate the account for my thought to be free 35 songs. Before I knew it my account had been charged with 31.99. I never downloaded one song. I just lost 31.99. They would not give my money back. I would not use them for anything.
I hope this review will help other not to use e-music ever. In fact I am going to write RCA and ETEC about them promoting e-music as a free trial. Please do not use them. Please tell others not to use them please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This should not have star rating. The rating should be 0 to 5. my rating for them would be 0.

In summary, I would not recommend eMusic to a friend.

EMusic

E music.

Where do I begin to write a review about a bunch of online Mp3 Cowboys.

The ploy is a free trial to get a taste of what emusic has to offer, this looks
very tempting but beware all is not what it seems. As I activate my no win no fee trial offer, a distinct feeling of dishonesty creeps in, and YES Im right I have been well and truly had, the offer seems to have disappeared and I have been charged straight away for £9.99, crooks.

Now I am, should I say in polite terms upset by the circumstances that have just occurred, and have already lodged an email with customer services and as of yet(3 days) have not received a reply, who would of guessed it, but I will try to put it behind me for now and look at there catalogue and download facilities.

For starters the back catalogue is poor and limited to alot of unknown artists, popular artists are not as comprehensively featured compared to rival Mp3 download sites, and the most downright shameful part of it all is that the take your money in exchange for 180 Kbps Mp3's which nowdays(2011) most people wouldn't even...
